Catastrophic Injury Management Seminar

On Monday, August 18th, 2008 A.C.I.C. held an informational seminar for several local high schools, which included schools from Irvine, Tustin, Saddleback Valley, Capistrano Valley, and Santa Ana Unified School Districts. The topics addressed were heat illness management, spine boarding techniques, emergency planning in athletics, proper protocol for AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, and efficient equipment removal. This information was disseminated through take-home binders for the schools in attendance, an oral presentation, and a hands-on skills practice session. Ultimately, the seminar was a success, and in keeping with our mission, A.C.I.C. has uploaded a majority of the meeting's content to its website for reference. Please review the material at your discretion and feel free to contact us with any questions.
